Spring Break Fun!

Spring Break this year was AWESOME! We had some really beautiful weather, so we got to spend lots of time outside. And we had a visit from Gigi! Fun times! So here is a little about our week...We started off at the Fort Worth Zoo - along with everyone else in the DFW area! But we of course had a blast. Carter LOVES animals. All kinds really. But he stood watching the giraffes the longest...the giraffes? I don't know...but we had to trick him into leaving. I myself am more of a monkey person. All the animals seemed to be out enjoying the beautiful weather, just like we were. So it was a wonderful, wonderful day!

Merry Go-Rounds - new favorite thing!

Climbing up and standing on the fences was his FAVORITE thing to do! So you'll see a theme in some of these pics...

Time for lunch I guess - C was getting a little fussy (and throwing himself down on the ground occasionally! It was so hard not to laugh...)

Sticks. Sticks are what is in his mouth! He picked them up all day long...as well as leaves? Someone should have told him driving all the way to Fort Worth for sticks / leaves was a BIG waste of gas...

And he still wanted to pet the snake, just like last year! Yuck...

After our zoo trip, we met Daddy at our favorite place for dinner, Salsa Tex Mex!

The next day, we went shopping at Stonebriar Mall! Of course Mom and I had the most fun shopping - but Carter had a great time playing in the play-area and riding the Merry-Go-Round!

The rest of the week, we did all kinds of fun stuff outside, like playing on the playground, planting flowers in the garden, etc. Carter also had a St. Patrick's Day party at school where he got lots of goodies! All in all, a really awesome week :)

I couldn't resist posting the pic below. Carter has started putting his toys in timeout...and this was one day when ALL of his Thomas the Tank Engines were in trouble. Too funny!

Blue Steel?

We used to call Carter Zoolander back in the day before he had his first haircut (because his hair was out of control!). Well I sent Tim the picture below of Carter taken at the park this weekend. And he sent me back a picture of Derek Zoolander & his "blue steel" look. Lol! Couldn't resist posting...

Carter is 2!

Hard to believe, but our little man is 2 years old! Although cliche, I can't help but ask "where has the time gone?!" We had a great time celebrating his birthday at The Little Gym again this year. We had so many family and friends there to celebrate...we are so blessed to have so many people in our lives who love Carter and wanted to help celebrate his birthday with him! It was hard to get anyone to slow down for a minute to take a picture...next year, we'll have to at least try and get one group shot of all of the kiddos together! But we managed to get some fun shots...

Carter in anticipation...

Waiting patiently with Cousin Alex to start playing...
Saying hi to sweet Cameron!

All of the big kids & adults always have such a fun time shooting baskets, including Cousin Landen!

Cousin Ayden climbing up the hill...

Jackson swinging like a little monkey on the bars!

Ariel was our Teacher at the Little Gym. We did all kinds of fun little introductory activities like the bells...

Introducing ourself (and doing a trick if we chose to!)

Playing with a huge parachute! (And even getting to run underneath!)

Bounce track time!

Even the sweet, adorable babies (Nora & Erin) got in on the bounce track fun!

Climbing, running around and WEARING himself out!

Time for snacks, Thomas the Tank Engine cupcakes & "Happy Birthday!" And this kid knew EXACTLY what to do with the candle! I didn't give him any instructions, he just did it! It was GREAT!! He even blew it out a little early ;) (Side story: A few nights ago, he started singing "Happy Birthday" again - so I sang it with him. And at the end he pretended he was blowing out a candle. It was PRECIOUS!)

Thank you to everyone who came - we had a wonderful time, especially Carter!

Alma Mater...

At school this week, the kids were asked to decorate their homeroom teacher's door according to what their Alma Mater was. We do this to promote college awareness / readiness. And it makes for a nice display throughout the building for Open House this week. I thought my kids did a fantastic job! (Of course I brought the t-shirt and pics / other items from home) but they did the rest! Made me REAL nostalgic for those days...

Like our annual sorority kickball tournament, that benefied the Ronald McDonald House in Austin...

Dressing up silly for Halloween with my pledge sisters / roommates...

Graduation...

And it wouldn't be complete without a picture of our Longhorn in waiting! (Speaking of, pics of his 2nd birthday coming soon!)

Hook 'em horns!
