| 4 months old! |
Our little lady turned 4 months old last week! At her checkup, the doctor said she looked awesome! She weighs a whopping 18 pounds (> 95th percentile) and is almost 25 inches (75th percentile). So she's the same length that Carter was, but weighs 1.5 pounds more. Our little chunky monkey!! She can sit up for around 30 seconds (sometimes more!) unassisted. The doc was definitely impressed & said she acts more like a 6 month old, than a 4 month old (pretty sure he said the exact same thing about Carter!). She clearly eats like a champ - still around 6-7 bottles of pumped milk a day. And we just started her on baby oatmeal. She seems to love it - shocking, right?! She eats about 1 tbsp a night. Soon we will be starting her on other baby foods! Can't wait!! She went through a phase of not sleeping much at night - but with some adjustments to Mommy's diet, we've figured out how to sleep again! She sleeps around 10-12 hours a night, waking once for a quick bottle. Hooray! The day that she got her 4 month shots, she slept 11 straight hours without waking - holy cow! I know that was due to the shots & Tylenol - but what a night of sleep!
She is such a happy baby...she truly is. She smiles and laughs and "chats" constantly. It just warms my heart! She likes to play in her Baby Einstein Exersaucer and as of the last few days - her Jumperoo! Who knew she was strong enough - Gigi! My Mom was recently in town and mentioned how strong her legs were and how she thought she'd enjoy jumping. I really didn't think she was old enough - WRONG! This girl LOVES, LOVES, LOVES it! In fact, it's the only "place" where I can put her where she will stay longer than 5 or 10 minutes by herself!
Since Carter has been out of school for awhile this summer, you can see we've spent LOTS of time at the house, but we've also taken 2 trips to the zoo! Of course Carter and I enjoy it every time - Emmerson just likes to ride in the stroller and nap in the Baby Bjorn. She's a trooper! We've also had lots of super fun play dates with friends - hanging out at houses, swimming and we even went to Pump It Up with Knox & Emmarie! (But of course Mommy forgets to take pics while trying to manage 2 kiddos!)
This summer has truly flown by...in fact the kids start at their new school next week, Willow Bend Learning Center - eeeeek! Being able to be home with both of them for so long has been an awesome blessing! We have had some sweet, sweet times (and some days with lots of tears and frustration - maybe even from all 3 of us, haha! - but doesn't that come with the territory?!). I love these kiddos SO much...they are SUCH a joy...
